Rebekah Summers

Coordinator of Multilingual & Migrant Programming
Lenoir City Schools

Rebekah is the Coordinator of Multilingual Learner & Migrant Programming with Lenoir City Schools. While LC Schools is a small district they rank 3rd in the state for overall percentage of Multilingual Learners. This role consists of supporting all school administration and faculty as there are multilingual learners in almost every classroom in the district.

Prior to her role as Coordinator, Rebekah completed her student teaching in grades K-12 for English Language Development with Lenoir City Schools then accepted a job teaching ELD at Lenoir City High School from 2015-2021. In the fall of 2021 she transitioned to her current position. Rebekah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Studies in 2014 followed by her Masters degree in ESL Education in 2015, both from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. In 2017 she completed her Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.

Rebekah deeply believes in the innate worth of our students as humans who deserve “unconditional positive regard.” She chose to teach Multilingual Learners from a desire to support and uplift some of our most at-risk students.
