Tucker Mountain

Tucker Mountain, a Tennessee native and first-generation college student, is currently pursuing a dual degree in Economics through the Haslam College of Business and Political Science through the College of Arts and Sciences.

Passionate about education equity, Tucker actively supports the First Generation Initiative on campus, striving to create opportunities for underrepresented students. His commitment to public policy led him to engage with The Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs, where he aims to learn impactful policy initiatives and gears his focus to minority groups. In addition to his academic pursuits, Tucker dedicates himself to ensuring a safe and inclusive campus environment. He serves on the UT Police Department Advisory Council, working to enhance campus safety, and he plays a crucial role in the Commission for LGBTQ+ Communities, advocating for inclusivity and support for LGBTQ+ students.

With a strong foundation in economics, politics, and public policy, Tucker is eager to bring valuable insights to the Higher Education Policy Council. His experiences, passion for education, and dedication to diversity and safety underscore his commitment to driving positive change throughout Tennessee.
