2024 Justice Fellows Applications
EdTrust is looking for its next cohort of Justice Fellows for 2024. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and diverse group of changemakers. The Justice Fellows program centers around a vibrant and nurturing community of directly impacted, formerly incarcerated individuals who have overcome the odds. Former Justice Fellows have created programs and organizations for the formerly incarcerated community, engaged in state legislative advocacy efforts, and more. Throughout the fellowship, the Justice Fellows will be paid a stipend to work with internal and external partners to inform and guide EdTrust’s structured engagements and convenings at the intersection of higher education policy and the criminal legal system.
People who are formerly incarcerated or have a juvenile record with less than five years of professional experience are encouraged to apply. Attaining some form of higher education is preferred but not required; however, you must be passionate about higher education policy for justice-impacted people. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2023.
About the Fellowship
Central to our work is elevating the voices of individuals who are directly impacted by the legal system. That’s why we’ve launched the inaugural Justice Fellows Policy Program, which centers around a vibrant and nurturing community of directly impacted, formerly incarcerated individuals who have overcome the odds and attained their bachelor’s or master’s degree, created programs and organizations for the formerly incarcerated community, engaged in state legislative advocacy efforts, and more.
Throughout this fellowship, the Justice Fellows will use their lived experience to inform, review, amplify, and reflect on Ed Trust’s policy recommendations for justice-impacted students. Additionally, Justice Fellows will inform and guide Ed Trust’s structured engagements and convenings at the intersection of higher education policy and the criminal legal system.
